Sherry Bell

Fundraising leadership grounded in people

Her experience spans donor acquisition, sustainer development, stewardship, face-to-face fundraising, telemarketing, quality assurance, risk mitigation, data analytics, and fundraising leadership.

Throughout her career, Sherry has supported more than 25 nonprofit organizations and fundraising associations, consulted with more than 10 fundraising agencies and service providers, and served in senior leadership roles within both nonprofit organizations and fundraising agencies. This unique combination of client-side, agency-side, and executive leadership experience allows her to understand fundraising challenges from multiple perspectives and develop practical, scalable solutions that deliver long-term results.

In 2014, Sherry co-founded the Professional Face-to-Face Fundraising Association (PFFA), helping advance ethical fundraising practices, accountability, professional development, and sector-wide self-regulation at a time when face-to-face fundraising was experiencing rapid growth. Her commitment to integrity, donor experience, and sustainable fundraising continues to guide her work today.

As the founder of Grow Fundraising & Consulting, Sherry partners with organizations seeking more than tactical advice. She helps leaders assess opportunities, strengthen infrastructure, optimize fundraising investments, improve donor retention, manage agency and vendor relationships, navigate compliance considerations, and create strategies that support both mission impact and financial sustainability.

At the heart of Sherry's approach is a belief that fundraising is about people. The strongest fundraising programs are built on trust, authentic relationships, shared purpose, and a genuine commitment to those we serve. Whether coaching leaders, supporting fundraising teams, or helping organizations deepen donor relationships, she focuses on building systems and cultures that create long-term success.

Personal note

Beyond the work

Outside of work, Sherry is an avid outdoor enthusiast who finds inspiration in nature, adventure, and exploration. She enjoys hiking, visiting national parks, spending time with her Labrador retriever Benson, and seeking out new experiences that challenge her perspective and fuel her curiosity. She is also the proud godmother of two remarkable young girls and is known simply as "Aunt Sherry" to many others, a role she treasures as much as any professional title. Those relationships, along with her love of animals, community, and the outdoors, reflect the values that shape both her personal life and her approach to leadership: invest deeply in people, lead with integrity, and leave things better than you found them.
